The recently published NHS and government guidelines have been updated in accordance with the ‘delay’ phase of the coronavirus pandemic. They have an unprecedented impact on the routine practice of dentistry in the UK with the aim of saving lives.
Temporary Closure for Routine Dental Procedures
Following Friday’s COVID-19 announcements from NHS England and guidance from the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, we have made the decision to temporarily close our dental practice for all routine dental procedures, until we can safely re-open (provisional guidance suggests this could be in May).
Our online booking systems will temporarily be closed for this period, but you will be able to book online for 1st June onwards.
We will contact you if you have any veneers, crowns, or dentures due to be fitted, in order to arrange this. Additionally, if you are mid-way through a course of treatment, we will contact you before your appointment to reschedule if we are still temporarily closed for routine procedures.
Denplan
For our Denplan patients, as this is a temporary closure, we will still offer you the same number of appointments per year, as covered by your plan membership. Please be reassured that you will not miss out on any of the dental care you need. Once the crisis is over, we are thinking of working extended hours to catch up and give you the quality care that you have always received from us, which will be covered as always by your monthly Denplan payments.
Emergency Dental Treatment
We will still be providing an emergency dental service to all our registered patients so please contact us if you have a dental problem on 01242 522616 or reception@rodneydental.co.uk
During this temporary closure period, we would like to extend this emergency dental service, free of charge, to all our registered patients working so hard for the NHS helping to save lives.
The Rodney Dental Practice
In these unprecedented and uncertain times, we would like to offer our very best wishes to you and your family. Our priority has always been the safety and wellbeing of our patients and team, and we will continue to do everything we can to support you.
This is a particularly difficult time, especially for those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19 and are being asked to self-isolate now, so if there is anything we can help with please get in touch on 01242 522616 or reception@rodneydental.co.uk
